Race for Life is something I’ve always done since I was able after I had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma ten years ago, it means an awful lot to give something back.
Last year a close friend had the wonderful idea of getting together a big group of friends and family and all walking together, as Alice’s Barmy Army! Even though it was only a week after I’d had chemo I managed it with the amazing support of a fantastic group of friends, their children and a support crew! We raised an astounding £1630.00!!! You can read more about it here
This year the Barmy Army is making a comeback!
I’m keen to get back to my running after chemo finishes in February and really used to enjoy adventure races so I’ve entered the Pretty Muddy race which is 5k of obstacles and mud – considerably different to the very slow walk last year! We are hoping that friends will join us for this or those that don’t enjoy the mud can do the 5k Race for Life on the same day which is great, something for everyone!
